This policy explains what personal information Youth Activism Nepal collects through this website, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

Who we are
Youth Activism Nepal (“YAN”, “we”, “us”) is a youth-led organization based in Kanchanpur, Saptari, Nepal. We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us at [email protected].
Information we collect
- When you contact us by email, phone, or social media: your name, contact details, and the content of your message.
- When you donate: we do not process payments on this website. If you donate by bank transfer, we receive the details your bank shares with us (such as your name, the amount, and the payment reference).
- When you browse the website: if analytics is enabled, Google Analytics collects information such as the pages you visit, how long you stay, your device and browser type, the website that referred you, and your approximate location (country or city). Google Analytics 4 does not log or store full IP addresses.
- Embedded videos: some project pages include YouTube videos, loaded in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode. When you play a video, YouTube (Google) may collect information under its own privacy policy.
- Technical data: like most websites, our hosting and content providers automatically process technical data such as IP addresses to deliver pages securely.
We do not ask for sensitive personal information on this website.
How we use your information
- To reply to your messages and coordinate volunteering, partnerships, and events.
- To record and acknowledge donations and meet our accounting and legal obligations.
- To understand how the website is used so we can improve it.
- To keep the website secure and working properly.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Some of these providers are located outside Nepal, including in the United States. Where required, transfers are protected by safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep information
- Google Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months and then deleted automatically.
- Messages are kept for as long as needed to respond and follow up, then deleted.
- Donation records are kept for as long as Nepali accounting and tax law requires.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under Nepal’s Individual Privacy Act, 2075 (2018) and the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation, you may have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- correct inaccurate information;
- ask us to delete your information;
- object to or restrict how we use it;
- receive a copy of it in a portable format;
- withdraw your consent at any time.
To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will reply within 30 days. If you are in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Young people
Many people in our community are young. This website does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 without a parent or guardian’s permission. If you think a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information. No website or online service can be completely secure, however.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
